Hello, I was Googling issues with audio crackling and I came across your posts above, so I just wanted to ask whether you might have any insights into what might be a similar issue that I am experiencing. If not, then sorry for disturbing ...

I have just been setting up a new Dell Latitude 5490 laptop for my work and have noticed crackling noised in my USB connected headsets. Here is what I have experienced:

  1. Dell Latitude 5490 Laptop
  2. Running Windows 10 Enterprise.
  3. Have tried 3 different headset manufacturers and all have the same crackling.
  4. Have tried all USB ports on the Dell and also its docking module and all have the same crackling.
  5. Have tried all 3 different headsets on my old HP laptop and they all work fine...

  5. Have tried all 3 different headsets on my old HP laptop and they all work fine their. It is on an earlier build of Windows 10 Enterprise.
  6. Have tried the laptop's inbuilt speaker and it does NOT crackle (its using a Realtek driver).
  7. The driver for each of the headset devices is Microsoft's USB Audio Device version 10.0.17134.1.
  8. My Window Updates are up-to-date.
  9. My Dell Command Update app updates are up-to-date.
  10. When I click to update the driver on the headset device, it says that I have the best driver already installed. I'd like to try an alternative driver, but not sure how to.
