I've downloaded some AVI type movies but it can viewable by winamp, media player or real player.....the only think I can hear is the sound. What's wrong with it??Am I using the wrong software??Or the file is corrupted?

you might not have the right codecs for it.

do a google search for defiler pak, install that its freeware and then try playing the file in one of those players. Defiler includes a lot of codecs not just for real player, if that still doesnt fix the problem then i'd say yeah u have a corrupt file but chances are it may fix the issue, its worked for me in the past anyway.

Could it possibly be a DivX ripped avi? Try downloading DivX player also. Sometimes i can get avi's to play on DivX that won't play on anything else.

But yes, having the right Codecs is important. There is no standardization so you need lots of them!
