Batman and Battlefield 2 not working on external monitor

I have an Hp dv6 pavilion 3052nr with an Hd 5650 graphicscard.When i connect my monitor to an external dislplay everything is normal and is working just fine.But when i launch a game it splits up into 4 boxes and each one randomly placed.So i am unable to play the game.I have already updated the drivers

It probably a resolution clash between the game and the laptop's resolution and the (probably higher res) of the external. Try adjusting the game's settings, the laptop's video settings in Windows and the OSD on the external.
