I have dell inspiron 4321 laptop. About 2 years ago my connection to the battery to laptop was disconnected. So , I drained the battery to 0% , after that I left the battery and continued using the laptop only with the charger connected. Yesterday I serviced the laptop for clearing dust and everything. But my battery also gets the connection. But it says 0% not charging.

Now , my question is , is there any way I can jump start my battery either by taking the battery apart or anything ? The battery was left at 0% for 2 years. I understand if there is no other way but replacing. But if there is I would be happy to try .. I used the laptop 7 months before the battery was disconnected .

Hi,

The only troubleshooting that you can actually do is to try and uninstall/reinstall the "microsoft acpi-compliant control method battery" from Device Manager. Once uninstalled just reboot your laptop and it should reinstall the driver automatically then see if it would charge pass 0%. If this will not work the only option you have is to really replace the battery itself. 🙁
