Battery Won't Charge After Keyboard Replacement

Laptop is a Dell Inspiron 15R Special Edition (7520).

I bought a cheap replacement keyboard off Amazon. Plugged it in and keyboard works fine but my laptop cannot run unless plugged in. Battery stays at 7% and shuts down when unplugged. I get this error upon reboot. I looked online and many people suggest flashing BIOS. I'm wondering if there are any brilliant minds here that can persuade me otherwise. Using the inspiron flashing tool requires a charge of at least 10%. I tried force launching it through cmd prompt, but it still said I needed 10%. I found this link but I have not carried out the steps yet.

The original keyboard had 2 connection ports: one for input detection and another for keyboard LED. The new keyboard I bought only has the input port and no LED port. Is it possible that this is the cause of the issue, or should I proceed to flashing the BIOS?

Thank you!
