So, right now I am looking to buy an ultrabook, but the problem is I want a dedicated/discrete GPU with it. I'm looking for a 13" laptop with at least a 1080p HD resolution and a Core i7-8550U with 8GB RAM (preferrably 16GB). And of course, the dGPU. I really like the Dell XPS 13, but the problem is that it doesn't have a Dedicated GPU and while I could use eGPU, I would sorta rather not. I just plan to do productivity and light gaming. So maybe a MX150, 940MX, or 1050? By the way my price range is under $1500. :)

Solution

If you like the Dell XPS then you will love the Huawei MateBook X Pro.
-Huawei MateBook X Pro @ Newegg
Core i7 8550U
16GB Memory
512 GB PCIe NVMe SSD
NVIDIA GeForce MX150
3000 x 2000 resolution

You could go with AMD Ryzen 7 2700U and save some cash
Inspiron 13 7000 2-in-1 @ Dell
16GB Memory
256 GB SATA SSD
1920x1080 resolution
Radeon RX Vega 10

Asus has ta 13" Zenbook with dedicated GPU but the build quality is not that good.

If you want a decent dedicated GPU (GTX 1050 and up), search for portable gaming laptop.
You will have to go with a 14" or larger screen, since laptops with dedicated GPU needs some cooling that might fit in a small laptop.

I considered it before, but I think a dGPU inside my laptop would be better suitable for me.

14" might be a bit too large so are there any laptops that are 13" with something like a MX150 or 940MX?
