Exposure compensation is made up of ISO and Shutter Speed. ProCamera 8 has to reset the EV settings for accuracy otherwise you wouldn't actually be setting the correct ISO/Shutter if EV was still active. This is exactly the same as Camera+ which also resets the EV reading when you use the manual shutter or ISO.
