Wondering if anyone can do better than this for a "gaming" laptop.
REFURB ASUS R510DP-FH11 - A10-5750M - Radeon HD 8670M - $560

It's for someone with a $600 hardcap. I realize this is a ways below "gaming grade" but I'm just aiming for the best I can.

Games won't be the most demanding ones. Think minecraft, tf2, etc. But that might change.

Location: US
Res, size, battery are all flexible.

Used is fine but craigslist in the local area doesn't have anything ATM and the purchase needs to be made this weekish.

Solution
Acer had a sale last week on one of their low-end gaming laptops. i5 with nVidia 840m. You may want to see if the sale is still going on.

Add coupon code SEIZETHEIDEA at checkout for 10% off. (Dunno if the code is still good, although it still falls within your $600 cap without coupon.)

The main drawback of the system (other than being a cheap Acer) is the 1366x768 screen. But at this level of GPU you probably don't want a 1920x0180 screen anyway.

This is the best laptop I was able to find under 600 USD (550 €)

Laptop ASUS X550CC-XX775H Windows
Windows 8 64bit. SK
Procesor: Intel Core i5 3317 s frekvenciou 1,7 GHz 3 MB L3 Cache 2 cores, 4 threads Introduced Jan 2013, back then 6.7/10 pts in review, nothing special, mediocre procesor
RAM: 4 GB DDR3
Monitor: 15.6"
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GT720M s 2GB = Benchmark just 8%, low end graphics card,
HDD 500 GB, 7200ot./min. SATA

So, as I said, there´s no good gaming laptop under 600. Dont buy laptop, if you want to buy PC this summer, build desktop by yourself its not that hard. Or ask someone who can. Some shops offering to build PC with components you pick
