Best Gaming Laptop 1000 Or under

Ok forum I need your help. I'm a highschooler with a problem. I need a laptop for Highschool and gaming. I need it for gaming and school work. It has to be NO MORE than 1000 dollars besides shipping. I play games suck as Dota 2, League of Legends, Minecraft, COD, battlefield 3, and Star Craft 2. I do NOT need to play games on ultra settings. I can play games on High and even medium on games such as battlefield or COD. I have looks at numerous threads on this site and I think this community could really help me out. Thank you so much!

Most of the brands you have heard of don't actually "make" a laptop.

Id recommend a Clevo W350ETQ at $939 .... buy the OS on College (or meybe HS) campus for $25-30. Dunno if they have the same deal still as they had on Win 7, see links at end

As for the Asus..... slow 5400 rpm HD (Clevo has 7200), smaller screen (14 versus 15.6) , chinsy 1366 x 768 resolution (versus 1920 x 1080), less battery cells 6 versus 8 on Clevo), no optical drive (Clevo has 8X DVD±R/RW/4X +DL), Asus has no bluetooth (Clevo does), Clevo has way more ports, better sound, better card reader and fingerprint reader

That's a decent laptop overall, and a good one for the price. The 660M will treat you well on those games (especially since you're not aiming for high FPS on ultra settings). The worst thing about it is the screen, though you don't generally find that size of a screen in anything beyond 720p anyway.

So for an i 5, a 660M, and 8 GB of RAM, that's a solid machine at a solid price. If you can afford to upgrade to a SSD at some point, then you'll REALLY be set.

I would go with this Lenovo Y500. It comes with an I7 3630QM and a GT 750m (If you are a student you can call Lenovo and get another $20 or so off by talking to the rep)

All for $879! You have another $120 to spend on a gaming mouse and a case!

With the Y500 you can add a 2nd GPU for SLI later if you need it.
