Hello.

I recently built my first gaming PC and am currently using the speakers built into my ASUS monitor. The sound built into the monitor is very good but I would still like to upgrade to a 2.1 or 5.1 speaker system (7.1 won't work because my motherboard does not support it as far as I know) for my music and gaming.

Any advice? I like deep booming bass and I don't want my music to sound tinny.

Music genres I like.

Jazz
Pop

Artists I like.

Frank Sinatra.
Sammy Davis Jr.
Fats Domino.
Elvis.

Thanks in advance!

Jazz and Pop does not lend itself to lots of bass, you should try it level, will sound a lot better, or maybe 10% on bass.

That is true. however my games need a lot of bass (for the gun shot and explosion sounds).

Do you have a speaker recommendation?

The Klipsh as above are very good speakers. Also the Logitech THX certified model are very good.

I would second this. I bought these years ago and every 6 months or so I research new PC speakers. I have yet to really find anything better than these. The sound amazing and have excellent range.
