Black screen laptop

My acer laptop giving me black screen when it is swutched on. I didnt hear the CD running or the fan running. I tried shining the torchlight to the screen to see if there any image. But then it didnt show the screen crack or any. How to solve this? :-(

can you connect it on tv? try press function key to switch to alternate/external display.. i.e. Fn + F3, Fn + F5, Fn + F8, or Fn + F9 few times (depends on the model - look for monitor logo)...
- If you can get display then could be probs with laptop LCD...
