I want to replace my OS ssd drive with a new ssd and then install a fresh copy of Windows. Problem is I can't boot into BIOS. From the MSI splash screen, I press delete and it leads me to a black screen with a non blinking white dash. I can boot into windows just fine if I don't press delete on the splash screen.
I've read a ton online saying to reset CMOS via jumper or removing the BIOS battery for a few seconds and placing it back again. I opened the bottom part of my laptop but I don't know where the CMOS jumper is or the BIOS battery.
Another thing that I tried is removing the battery and pressing the power button for 30 secs then plugging the AC adapter in. It didn't work.
My laptop btw is the MSI GE60 2PE Apache 003. Please help.

Hi,

The CMOS battery is buried inside the laptop and it's the one coated in yellow film and has a cable running to the motherboard. So to reset BIOS by removing it would mean you'll need to disassemble the whole laptop, unplug the CMOS battery cable then plug it back in.

Here's a video guide on how to disassemble your laptop that may help.

I'll void the warranty if I disassemble the whole laptop. It would take a considerable amount of time until I could get my laptop RMAed so if possible I want to have it as a last resort.
Would it be possible to clone my OS drive(SSD) to a new SSD without doing anything in the BIOS?
