Blooming on NBC via Adelphia cable

Sunday night we noticed blooming of reds on the HD NBC feed from
Adelphia. Was this just on our cable provider or a problem at the source?

Most likely at the source or at your end (cable box or TV). At the vast
majority of cable systems. The signal is digital all the way from the
broadcaster to your house, with no processing that could possibly affect
individual components of the video signal such as color saturation or
luminance level that would cause blooming.

Well, we're using a SmartCard plugged into a Panny 42" plasma set.
Haven't noticed the problem again so maybe NBC was having some hardware
problems ...
