I have this tv

https://www.lg.com/uk/tvs/lg-43LH510V

Recently I have noticed the sound is very fuzzy at higher volumes and at certain frequencies. It only has one HDMI port so have been using a splitter for that, thats working well so far. It doesn't have an aux out so I don't know what my options are for connecting any external audio?

or do I just take it to a repair shop and get them to replace the speaker? or is it something I can do myself? I'm pretty good at following instructions and guides but have zero electrical knowledge or supplies

Or do I cut my losses, flog it on ebay and get a new one with more audio and hdmi ports?

The problem you describe might not be the speakers in the TV but the amplifier.
I think you can use the SCART connection on the TV with an adapter to give you an analog audio output. That can be used with any soundbar with an aux input.

I would do this rather than give a tech money to restore the TV sound. The soundbar or speakers you get would work with your next TV too. Much better sound and a better investment.

On your TV, does it have optical audio out port? If it has, you can use an optical audio cable to check sound using external speakers. If the speakers of the TV is giving fuzzy sound, best to contact a technician from service center to diagnose the issue causing it. Take note that if repair will cost more than a new TV, just get a new TV and forget the repair.

All TVs and I mean ALL, no exception, need external speakers so may as well get one, whether u gonna keep this LG or another. Soundbars are pretty popular 'coz 1-piece and promises plug&play. Most TVs will have Optical out, so get SB with Optical In and be sure you have remote volume control on SB, and ur all set.
