That is really unpleasant.
Is the drive recognized by BIOS?
Mechanical drives are really vulnerable to shocks. Most probably, the drive has sustained some physical damage.
My suggestion would be to take the HDD out of the system and attach it as a secondary drive to another computer. Then, you can see if it would be accessible. In case it is, you can back up the data and check it's health status out: http

It is possible. You may want to check and make sure nothing got jarred loose or disconnected.
If that isn't the case, then you will need a new hard drive.
