Brand new Asus K556U extremely slow

Hi all,
I googled for the past few hours many other threads in this forum and in other places but I'm still haven't found any answer

I just bought my new laptop YESTERDAY, and it's working really slow. I barely installed any software on it, no Photoshop , games or something that is obviously heavy.
I mean - it get stuck with only Outlook, Spotify and a few chrome windows which are open. It's ridiculous and frustrating.

The laptop specification:
intel core i7-7500U up to 3.5 GHZ
Memory 8GB
Nvidia Geforce
1 TB HD
(No SSD)

I would highly appreciate any help

How does CPU/RAM/Disk usage look in TaskManager? Certain models come loaded with so much bloatware, that they're really frustrating to use.

Your situation sounds quite a bit worse than the "average" experience though.

Can you monitor temperatureS? Something like HWMOnitor would help. Just want to make sure your CPU isn't overheating.

Looks like you're pegged at 100% disk usage. As this is a new laptop..... is Windows performing a bunch of updates in the background?

How can I make sure there's no update which is running?
However, the task manager looks crazy to me, I barely know 50% of what's running in there:

Left click the Windows symbol lower left corner of the taskbar>left click the settings (gear) icon>left click update and sercurity.

The Windows 10 Fall Creators Update (I think that's what it's called) can take HOURS, in addition to all the other updates a laptop fresh out of the box needs to do.
