brand new laptop, fan noise is killing me

Bought a new Asus this evening, went through set up for about an hour and a half and everything was fine. Put it away for a couple of hours, started it back up, and the fan was immediately so loud, I couldn't hear anything else in my apartment. Someone please help before the object throwing begins.

Is there a scratching sound or is it just spinning up a huge amount.

maybe your laptop is overheating so it rampsup the fan speed of the gpu or software issue?
