Question Bush TV - no words on menu screens

Hi. I have a relatively new Smart Bush HD TV. I can't change any settings e.g. brightness, because there are no words come up on the menu screens on the TV. It's just a series of grey boxes, sometimes with icons in the relevant section e.g. HDMI slot for input..but it doesn't actually say HDMI. Any fixes?

try updating the firmware

RMA the TV -> warranty
