can i overclock my laptop safely?

Hey i have this laptop Lenovo Z50-75 it is running at 1.8 GHz cpu and i am looking at a review about it saying i can accelerate the cpu up to 3GHz safely without it overheating. or am i just reading it wrong.

here is what it says:
"Lenovo installs an A8-7100 APU (Kaveri) from AMD in its IdeaPad. The processor part of the APU clocks with a base speed of 1.8 GHz. It can be accelerated up to 3 GHz via Turbo. The processor is comprised of four CPU cores. The APU's TDP is 19 watts. Additional information and benchmarks relating to AMD's Kaveri APU can be found in our corresponding article."

It will clock itself up to 3 ghz automatically when needed, no need to overlock.

yes it will. It operates default on 1.8 ghz to save energy, but jumps up to 3 ghz when needed:

I would adjust that wording: it will clock itself up to 3 ghz when it is *able to based on temp and how many cores/gpu modules are being used. How long it will be able to stay there depends on your laptop's cooling solution. You could not increase performance by overclocking since your laptop will downclock your APU to stay within thermal limits. If you run your laptop at full capacity it may have an initial jump in speed, but it will probably settle at the 1.8 GHz for long term number crunching or gaming. If, on the other hand, you are only using a single core for quick task, it will be able to stay at the 3 GHz for the few seconds required to complete the simple task.
edit: If it could sustain the 3GHz for all cores for any extended time they would advertise it as a 3GHz chip.

Actually mine has i4200u and it works with max 2.4GHz, so is it possible to increase it safely?
