I have an older dell vostros 1700 running xp with a core 2 duo and 2 gigs of ddr2 and was looking for a decent game to play and ran upon syberia 2 on orgin and was curious how well the system will run it

I came to the conclusion that this is a very old game, which does not need a powerful PC - you should be fine. Also, you can put your PC requirements to the table in game-debate.com and it will show you how well it would run the game.

Steam states the requirements as such:

  DirectX®: 9.0c.

Since you've got a laptop there, there is no upgrade path either. You can adjust RAM dedicated to the
Intel GMA X3100 graphics built into your CPU to meet requirements, AND it is DirectX 9... but not 9.0c

I predict that it is this, the IGP, that is the Achilles Heel for playing the game. IOW: It won't run well at all.
