Can I take time lapse photos (~1-3 hour interval) with a stock DS6041?

I am hoping to take a series of photos on a tripod that show the effect of sunlight on a photo active material.
Can I (somehow) set the camera to take one photo automatically every say 3 hours?

The camera in question is a Canon EOS DS6041 (Fw 1.1.1).
