Can Inspiron 15R project to two monitors

I have a Dell Inspiron 15R with one HDMI port and four USB ports. It has Intel HD Graphics 4000 chipset. Is it possible to do one of two things; 1) Close the lid and project to (2) regular monitors? And if so, what hardware will get that working? 2) Keep the lid open and project to (2) regular monitors so the laptop screen either mirrors or extends the regular monitors?

there are USB to DVI or USB to HDMI video cards.

if you wan to close the lid, you need to change the power properties so the laptop does not go into Hibernation or Sleep mode.
