Canon 650D video viewing and format issue

Hi

So i used my 650D on Saturday for a charity basement rave and took many amazing photos and videos. Now that i have sat down to pull them off the camera for edit i see that the videos are in some format called .MOV (i recorded at 1080p 24fps) which i have never seen or heard of before. From some research i have found that the Canon software on the disk is meant to be able to read this format and be able to edit it but i can not use that software as it is incompatible with Windows 10, which sucks, so what are my options?

How do i view these video files and get them edited?

You could try converting them to a more usable format with either MPEG Streamclip or Handbrake (both of which are free).
You could also try Blackmagic's DaVinci Resolve 14 to see if it will allow you to edit those .MOV clips. Scroll down to the bottom of the page for the free download link.

I suggest you get handbrake. It is free. It is an excellent video file processor. It has a simple, clean interface. It can easily convert MOV files to mp4 or whatever you want.
