Solved! Canon powershot a480: all sd card locked

The SD card of my cam suddenly says "card locked." I purchase a new one, but I got the same error.
I can't reformat the memory cards on my cam, and the slide button on the card is unlock. any help?

I had the same problem. I took out my memory card and on the side of the card there is a small "lever" that you can move up or down (lock/unlock). Put in the unlock position and the card worked fine.
