Cant delete photos from memory card saying write protected

Hello,
Im trying to delete the photos off of my memory card. The camrea is saying the card is 'write protected'.
I've never had this problem before.
What is the problem?

Sometimes inadvertently, the lock/unlock tab gets into the 'lock' position. Verify that it is in the unlocked position; make sure that there is nothing interfering with it.

Another method is to insert the card into a card reader and then do what you want to do.
