cant download photos from T3

I have been downloading photos from my T3 for several years. Today, when I connected it to the computer, the camera screen goes blank, and the computer says there are no photos. If I unplug the cord, everything is fine. It is only when I plug the camera to the computer. I have used 2 different cords.

Take the SD card out and plug that into a card reader, and retrieve your photos.
