Cant download programs

Hello,
everytime i try to dowmload a free program from downloads.com i get an "init err" ms.Says i have a problem with direct3dx9? This is win 7 on a toshiba laptop,Thanks

go to www.microsoft.com/directx and download the latest directX. Also make note of what version it downloads and installs and make sure you are compliant with downloads.com (you have 9, it needs 10 as an example)

what free program are you trying to get? don't use the cnet downloads.com if you don't have to.
