Cant hear anything

Hi i have bought a new headset with microphone ( Hp B4BO9P#ACJ ) it is working fine but its mic is not working when i go to control panel then sound then recording it does not shows headset microphone it only shows microphone and when i speak bar does not goes up

On a typical PC/laptop, you'll need to use the splitter to connect to the required ports. Are you connecting to a PC or laptop? If a PC, are you connecting to the front panel or rear panel connections?

Try the rear panel connections.

Still can't but I just noticed something strange when I speak in the ear pads the level goes up a bit in control panel, sound , recorder

Make sure your adapter splitter is connected to the proper ports. I would still recommend troubleshooting using the rear panel ports. Front panel ports are notorious for being flaky.

You might need to adjust the mic settings in Control Panel/Sound. What version of Windows are you using?

Also, some audio drivers install a configuration tool that can be used to make adjustments as well. What sound card device are you using? If not sure, what is the make/model of your motherboard?

Motherboard is Msi 2a9ch basically my PC is hp microtower 7100
