Can't log in - usb keyboard won't work

After turning on my Toshiba Satellite laptop and trying to type my password in I found that my usb keyboard won't type or interact with my laptop in any way and because of this I'm stuck on the log in screen without any way to access anything due to a non-working keyboard. Any fixes?

EDIT: bought two different keyboards and tried putting them in all the usb ports but didn't work still.

Try another keyboard? Try another port? Get a replacement keyboard for the laptop?
