charger cables damaged can heat the latpop?

Hi, I have a asus x55c and since the charger got a little damaged,the cables are slightly opened and its making bad contact, I have noticed that the computer appears to be heating more in the area where the cable connects to the computer.

Do you know if its better buy a new charger because this heating problem or this heating problem should not be because of the charger?
