Compaq 615 won't start

Hello,
My compaq 615 notebook doesn't want to start. When I press the power button the power light switches on for a few seconds and then switches off. This happens when I have disconnected the power cable from the notebook, if attached it does not light at all.

Please help me troubleshoot it.

Try taking the battery out and just use mains electricity. Sometimes a battery gets so low and almost dead that t can't even pass power through.

I have tried that several times and it still woudln't correct the problem.

When your AC Adapter is plugged in does it light up to indicate its charging? Have you tried using another adapter or battery ?

I have identical problem with my Compa 615. Did you found solution for this problem?

the problem must be on your charger or adaptor. I also had same issues with my compaq.

i think your main battery is in low state, so when you push the power it can't run the windows, but it still can switch the lights on for seconds. When youre plugging the charger it even get worse because your charger is haaving a problem.

i suggest you to try to use new/ another charger to testing. if its working fine then the problem must be in your charger, you can put the battery off when your plugging the new charger, if its still not working, i'm afraid the problme might be in the hardware section 🙁
