Connect 3.5mm IR receiver to MOBO

I have an IR receiver that i got along with a TV tuner card. It has a 3.5mm jack connection. The card does not work on Windows 7 as there are no compatible drivers. Can i somehow use this cable to connect to my current mobo and use the remote that came with the card to use the media centre on Windows?

My mobo is an Intel DHC55HC.

Unlikely, but you may be able to use a USB IR Receiver instead.

What tuner card do you have? Are there Vista Drivers for it?

I have a Philips Chipset Card of Supercomp make. I tried googling it for hours, but could not find the Vista drivers. Any link to the same would be highly helpful. Also, i guess this old hardware would not be 64 bit compatible.

More than likely not 64-bit compatible. I only asked if there were Vista drivers because (if they existed), they may be compatible with Windows 7. Sorry, but it looks like you're going to need some other solution.
