I want to build up an integrated system with the following devices:
macbook
ELAC Debut B5 speakers
yamaha RX-V381 amps
xbox one
monitor

What I want is to use xbox as the cd/dvd playing & gaming station-rolled in one connected to the monitor and the audio comes out of the speakers. Also, I want the laptop to be connected to the speakers to play digital music.

So, how should I make the connections and what possible connectors I might need to use such that I dont get any audio lag either while playing my xbox or listing to songs via my pc. I am a noob when it comes to creating such a system and would be great if you guys help me out here.

Thanks!

Xbox one to receiver (HDMI)
Receiver to monitor (HDMI)
There are options on how you connect the macbook.
1. Use the headphone out as line level out to the receiver (analog). Lowest quality but simple. Just a cable.
2. Use a USB to coax digital adapter like this one
https://www.amazon.com/Signstek-Coaxial-Converter-Decoder-Analogue/dp/B00FEDHHKE
to provide a coax or optical digital audio output for the receiver. Better quality. Need usb and digital audio cable.
3. Use one of these
http://www.apple.com/shop/product/MJ1K2AM/A/usb-c-digital-av-multiport-adapter
to add an HDMI out for the macbook that you can connect to the receiver. Best quality and only cable needed is HDMI. Allows you to use the monitor as an extended desktop too,

Check first that you can output audio only from it so you don't have to turn on the monitor just to listen to music.
Since you only have two speakers make sure to set the receiver up for that (no center, rears or subwoofer).
