connecting home theater system to tv

how do you connect a home theater system to your tv?... tried RCA cables, R F modulators, DAC, headphone plugs.. nothing works. can not get sound to come thru speakers.

depends on what home theater system and tv as well as your connectivity options.

you need to specify brand and models. listing what input/outputs you have is also helpful (which saves us from needing to track down the manual).
