Connecting PC audio to Sony BDV-N7200W Home Theater

I can't seem to get audio from my PC to come though my Sony BDV-N7200W HT system. I'm choosing the "audio" function and using phono cable. The strange bit is that i can play music from my phone but not from my PC. I'm using a standard phono to 3.5 minijack.
Can somebody help?

Check the audio control panel on the PC. If you used USB for audio the green analog audio output might be off. If you used HDMI for audio you may have to check the video control panel too.

I have tried different setting in the audio control panel and i can't figure out why.. It makes no sense. Can play music from ipad, iphone, htc one but not my PC even though the connection between them are completely the same. Im using a phono to minijack cable. My PC dosent detect the speakers
