Converting composite to VGA (JUSTOP Media Player)

I want to use this JUSTOP Media Player (http/www.amazon.co.uk/JUSTOP-Media-Player-1080P-Surround-Black/dp/B006S6F44W/ref=pd_cp_computers_3) to play videos from a USB stick on a computer monitor.

I'm going to use these to convert composite(yellow/red/white) to VGA and audio:

Is there any reason why this wouldn't work?

It can work, but that's a lot of converters. You will not be able to get a 1080p signal using them. Why would you not use the HDMI output? You can get an HDMI to DVI converter if you need.

My monitor isn't HD (5:4, 19"), but would HDMI still work better? It doesn't have a DVI socket, but is it possible to go from HDMI to VGA? I assume you could still use the red/white cables (converted to 3.5mm cable) in the speakers.

My video files are usually at much lower resolutions than 1080p, so would that mean there's a better chance of it working well?

HDMI would definitely be better. Most devices with HDMI output can handle a simple HDMI to VGA adapter, but I can't guarantee that it will work.
