Corsair Vengeance 1500w Headset White Noise

I just got a new headset for my computer recently but whenever I turn up the master volume slider in the volume mixer my headset gets a lot of white noise. I don't know if this is my computer or if it's my headset. Please help if you can.

I'm assuming you are using a 3.5mm jack connector and not USB. I'll suggest connecting the headset through the motherboard and not the front panel, that alone should reduce any background noise to negligible levels. If you are currently connected to the motherboard or using USB, I'll suggest trying the headset on a different PC since it may be a fault of the headset

I am using USB and it is connected through the motherboard.

Is there another PC you can try the headset on? I'll suggest moving the mic boom into different positions to see if that may help, it would indicate a fault with the headset which I'm sort of leaning toward anyway
