Could my USB ports be ''burned''?

Hi,

I’ve connected my Mobius usb cable to my laptop, in the same time my mouse was connected to the other USB port.
As soon as I connected the Mobius, my laptop switched off. I disconnected the Mobius, and restarted my laptop. Now all of the USB ports work without that one some my mouse was connected to.

Is that port burned?!!

Thank you for your help in advance.

Best regards

Assuming you've tried alternate USB devices connected to that port?

It's entirely possible the port is fried. USB ports do tend to have the ability to switch themselves off to protect the device (incase a device is sending voltage back to the port), but a restart should revive them.

Thank you for your quick answer.
I’ve tried that port with other usb sticks but it doesn’t work.
And I think the cable from camera to usb was wrong connected.
But the question is why the other port stopped working, not the same one that I’ve connected the Mobius camera to.

Best regards
