dell mini window wont install

I have a dell mini laptop nick edition, hard drive crashed, bought another (western Digital) when installing windows 7 i get this error "windows cannot be installed to this disk. This computers hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure the disks controller is enabled in the computers bios." I have phoenix bios V. A06, i read alot of threads and there is no way to change from ide, sata or raid in the bios. is there anything i can do

it's a dell nicklodeon edition... i had win 7 on it when the old was in it. Win 7 went on with no problems, did a full install and work no prob until i put in a new hard drive and i stated getting the error

Yes to the Genuine, I put disk in drive, turn on laptop, press f12, select cd/dvd drive, everything goes good til it goes to format or it goes to partition. thats when i get the error
