Digital camera will not turn on

I used my laptop charger to charge my fuji finepix camera by mistake and camera does not work. I replaced the battery and the red light came on immediately but went out even with correct charger. Still will not turn on at all.
help please

Have you compared the voltage listed on the laptop charger's label with that expected by the camera. My guess is the laptop is 20 volts and the camera is designed for a maximum of 5 volts.

Result unhappiness.

Yes it was a high voltage but I thought it would just mess up the battery and a new one would work but it doesnt - can i mend the camera?

You can't, I suspect. It may be worth taking it to a Fuji dealer and see if it's worth the cost of repair.

Thanks for your help - It will probably mean buying a new one - what a costly mistake eh!
