Do I have to have a computer tower to do the basic stuff?

I am wanting to get a computer setup in my room but I need some help. If I buy a computer monitor, keyboard, and a mouse do I have to buy the overpriced computer tower? I want to use it to do some basic stuff (e.g. YouTube, Internet browsing, light gaming, etc.

The monitor I am looking at is the Dell - SE2717HR 27" IPS LED FHD FreeSync Moniter from Best Buy.

yes, you need the tower that have cpu/ram/sdd/motherboard, etc
