Do i need a boot disk for my dell vostro 3400 when i put new hard drive in

im putting a new hard drive in my dell vostro 3400 i dont have my cd/dvds that came with it when i bought it new do i need any of them to boot up if so which one and where do i get one at

Yes, what are you going to run as the operating system if you don't?

Before you swap the hard drive, make a copy of the install disk. There should be an option to do so. Go search in the windows search bar. Alternatively, you can buy it from the manufacturer.
