Hi, I'm building a new gaming PC and I'm looking to save as much money as I can. So do I really need a sound card? My motherboard will be an Asus Z87-A. I'm not looking for fancy professional-grade quality. I just need it to be good enough for sound to feel natural and without any backround noise. Also, is there a discernable difference between a $10 sound card and a $30 one?

Thanks in advance and sorry for my bad English.

No you dont need a sound card. Why spend $10-$30? If you want to get a sound card you dont want to go cheap. Also, You will need headphones or speakers that can handle the sound card. Just keep what you have and save the money for something else

you shouldnt need a soundcard unless you note any audio issues coming from your onboard audio. its best to test on onboard first and make the call after listening.

you wouldnt find anything decent for $10. at minimum i'd get the $27 xonar dg.
