Downloaded movies missing in my Samsung Tab 4

Hi i had downloaded a few movies on my new Samsung tab 4. I had moved them to my SD card. I also watched on eof teh movies . but two days later they have disappeared. Cant find them either on the SD card or on the device. Any suggestions on how to retreive them & also why this has happenned
