Dual core laptops to edit 1080p videos

I'm shopping for a laptop. I know that more cores are better in video editing but as far as I know, all quad-core laptops are heavy and laptops like XPS 15 and razor blade are out of my budget.

Can a i7-7200U be enough to cut 1080p videos as i only work with 1080p files?
Please help.
