Equalizer software?

Are there any equalizers out there that will monitor and possibly help me modify my output audio? I have a 5.1 system and a Creative EMU10K2 SB Audiology sound card and I feel like its all going to waste. It may not be the best sound card ever but it still works great.

Anwida Soft makes a 31 band EQ plugin. Also check out a site called KVR Audio.
