Hello

I recently purchased a nikon d7100 and a vivitar sf-3000 flash.

when i press the test button on the flash it works but when I try to take a photo i get nothing.

Is there something I have to change in the menu? or buy a better one?

Please help I need to use it very soon.

Thanks

looking up review on the flash, they say it sucks, and looking on the vivitar site, it doesn't show it's compatible with the d7100. You need more that a $13 flash on a $1300 camera.

Hello

New problem.

I bought a triopo speedlight tr 980n.

First use was no problem.
But now everytime I put on new battery it just runs out when I power on.

Please help my holiday will be ruined

You need to use a Nikon speedlight. They are designed for Nikon cameras and contain circuitry to make the two compatible.

The power switch has 3 settings: "Off", "Normal", and "Slave On".
If you click it all the way to 'slave on' it may not work in the hot-shoe (it waits for the on-board lash to go off... and the on-board flash isn't activated). Make sure that you only click as far as 'Normal' mode.

just pick the cheapest flash thinking they don't have compatibility issues
