extrenal gpu lenovo y700

is it possible to connect an extrenal gpu such as GTX 1060 to the lenovo y700 through the PCIE slot using an egpu ? ( i 7 6700 3.4 turbo boosted skylake, gtx 960m 4gb, 16gb ddr4, 60hz 1080p display ) ?

but it doesn't work through the PCIE port it utilizes a thunderbolt port and having seen the specs your laptop doesn't have one

And as far as I know you can't do that because the gpu is welded and I'm not sure if your laptop can handle a more powerful GPU

Pcie is a desktop slot. Mpcie is commonly used for the wireless card in laptops and is what the video shows. It's commonly used for egpus but it is limited to x1 bandwidth which can result in 50% performance of the gpu. But yes you can use an egpu on your laptop. The 960m is not high end btw, it's about the same as a 750ti.
