Hello guys I have a ASUS n550jk & I recently dropped my phone on my keyboard was pretty flat, After my fan just randomly started going from quiet then build its way up to a peak stay there for a couple seconds then go back down. Its been repeating this about every 20-30 seconds. (This never happened before) So, I opened the laptop for the first time it was pretty dusty so I sprayed some compressed air on the fan to see if it would help. No dice. I am at my wits end & my warranty expired about 4 - 5 months ago. Its been a little over a year since I had it. I also went into the BIOS but there were no Fan related items in there. Could really use some help thanks. (This happens with nothing but default startup items & taskmanager aswell)

Hi,

Please do try these troubleshooting steps that may help.
- Start by doing a hard reboot, remove the battery and unplug the AC adapter then press and hold the power button for 20 seconds the observe the laptop if the fans will still loud as before.
- If it will not work, do open the laptop again and make sure the fans are dust free plus apply new thermal paste on the CPU.

- If all these will not work, you'll need to replace the fan itself since it may had been damaged already.
