I have a 4GB Sony ProDuo Memory card with photos on from my travels. My basic HAMA card reader read them fine and I could look at them on my laptop. Now when I put the card in the card reader I can't see the photos and it says that it is a FAT32 file. I have absolutley no idea what that is and I'm terrified that I've lost my pictures. Please can anyone help me?

FAT32 refers to the file allocation table -- which in this case seems to be a 32bit system similarl to that which Windows used prior to XP (which uses NTFS).

I don't know why your computer would choose to comment on that but it may suggest a problem. If you have added pictures to the card using another camera or from the laptop that might be the cause.

I would suggest putting the card back in the camera and see if you can download the pictures to the laptop using the USB cable which came with the camera.
